The historic Lucia carnival returns

“U’ càtalèttu” is the historic Carnival of Lucie in Santa Lucia del Mela. It is an excellent opportunity to taste dishes cooked exclusively by master restaurateurs and pastry chefs of Lucie where it is possible to taste macaroni with sauce and the typical ricotta fraviole, the main sweet of the Lucie carnival. Allegorical parades, masked groups and tastings of typical recipes: these are the ingredients for the entertainment of young and old. The city dresses up for the long-awaited re-enactment of the “Cataletto”, a carnival ritual with very ancient origins, and for the preparation of the special parade.
